Utah’s Oldest Piano Dealer — A Name Trusted for 164 Years
Founded in 1862, before Utah became a state, Daynes Music Company has been part of the fabric of this community for more than a century and a half.
Through generations of family leadership, our company grew alongside the state itself. Pianos placed by Daynes Music have found homes in churches, schools, concert halls, and living rooms across Utah. For many families, a visit to Daynes marked the beginning of a lifelong musical journey.
As the oldest Steinway dealer west of New York City, we’ve built our reputation on expertise, integrity, and a commitment to placing instruments thoughtfully and responsibly. That tradition carried through wars, economic shifts, and the evolution of the music industry itself.
More than a business, it represents a lineage of craftsmanship, enduring relationships, and community trust built over 164 years.
This closing marks the end of an era — but the music these instruments create will continue in new homes for generations to come.
When the final piano is sold and the doors close, this chapter ends permanently.
